Display options
Formulas in titles can be viewed either as LaTeX codes or as typeset formulas. Click on the link to the right of the search bar to toggle between these modes.
ASCIIMathML is used to display mathematical formulas. If you still see LaTeX codes when you click "Display formulas," that is probably because your browser is not ASCIIMathML-compatible. ASCIIMathML currently works only with Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox or with Internet Explorer 6+. If you use Internet Explorer, you'll also need the free MathPlayer plugin. No matter which browser you use, you may also need to download some additional fonts: for details, see http://www.mozilla.org/projects/mathml/fonts.
Searching
Searching is keyword-based: a search will return every item in the catalog that matches all of the keywords entered (in either the author or the title field). Keywords are not case-sensitive. They are also not accent-sensitive, so you can find Gödel by searching for "godel". You can find symbols by searching for their LaTeX codes, e.g. "aleph".
